Begin the telecom wars have. A day after Jio announced the Prime service and said that it would offer 30GB 4G data for Rs 303, Airtel has sent a notification to its post paid users that they can get additional 10GB data for Rs 100.

Update: Airtel has reached out to the India Today Tech and has denied that the 10GB offer has anything to do with the Jio Prime. According to the company it is part of the on going promotions that the company is running as part of its Surprise Offers. It says that Airtel customers have been offered the same plans earlier too.

This data, part of Surprise Offer by Airtel, will be in addition to whatever the existing plan the users subscribes. This means if you have a Rs 500 plan that gives you 3GB data, you will be able to spend another Rs 100 and with the total monthly price of Rs 600 http://www.cheapjerseys11.com/ will be able to get 13GB 4G data from Airtel. Essentially Airtel’s offer makes the data as cheap as the Jio data, although overall the cost of Jio is still lower and the Jio plan is still simpler. It is also available all Jio users whereas the Airtel offer could be selective to specific users.

This is not the first time Airtel has responded to the threat from Jio. Since Jio was launched publicly on September 5, Airtel and Vodafone, which are the two biggest telecom operators in India, are keeping a close watch on it. Although in the beginning they didn’t respond, by December they were coming out with new plans day after day. This is something Reliance chairman Mukesh Ambani highlighted in on Tuesday while he launched the Jio Prime. “In the last few cheap jerseys months, hundreds of offers have been launched by the industry. These plans have created a lot of confusion in the market and customers are having what I call data and value anxiety, whether they are getting the best value for the price that they are paying,” said Ambani. While the threat from Jio is formidable for companies like Airtel and Vodafone, in the last couple of months they have been able to respond in a fairly well thought out manner and has retained customers. Airtel has revamped its pre paid plans as well as has made Infinity Plans for post paid consumers cheaper. Vodafone, meanwhile, has come with new Red plans as well as has launched the innovative Rs 15 top up plan, which gives consumers unlimited 4G data for one hour. Essentially, the Vodafone’s hourly plan offers data at a price that is even cheaper than what Jio provides.
